No disaster strikes upon the earth or among yourselves except that it is in a register before We bring it into being – indeed that, for Allah, is easy. In order that you not despair over what has eluded you and not exult [in pride] over what He has given you. And Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful. (Surah no. 57, al-Hadeed, verse no. 22-23)
Allah tests us to know His grateful servants
Dear brothers and sisters, Allah’s great blessing, kindness and mercy upon the human beings are that He has created us as a supreme creation of the world. He has also created all the things of the world only for us. Sometimes in the land we face natural disasters like misfortune, famine, earthquake, cyclone, flood etc. He gives us all these things to test us that who among us are grateful servants of Allah who are not.
Nothing happens in the world without His knowledge
All the difficulties and problems happen according to the will and plan of Allah. What we consider calamities may be blessings in disguise. Pain in the body is often a signal of something wrong, which we can cure by remedial measures. As a result, in the moral and spiritual world, we should in all circumstances hold firmly faith that nothing happens without Allah’s knowledge and leave; and therefore there must be some justice and wisdom according to His great universal plan. Our duty is to find out our own shortcomings and remedy them. If we try to do so in all sincerity of heart, Allah will give us guidance.
At the time of hardship work with patience
We have to know and understand that the good, which is destined for us, shall surely reach to us, and that, which is not ordained for us; will never come to our hand. Whatever is ordained in the knowledge of Allah shall definitely happen. Therefore, at the time of hardship, difficulties, affliction unsuccessfulness we should work with patience and submission, and at the time of ease and success we should work with gratitude and glorification.
May Allah forgive us and give us ability to try our level best to use His gifts and blessings properly following the path guided and instructed by Him.
