Man is mortal
Everybody must die,
Someone to laugh then
And someone to cry.Suddenly, you’ll see
Death is at your door,
Everybody must go to the grave
Rich or poor.
Nobody can flee
From the hand of death
When breakage will come
Then stop bravado and breath
Life is a tale of lies
But death is true
Call of death must come
Today or tomorrow.

Once I’ve walked with my lord,
I saw only a set of footprints in the sand.
Then I saw unknown dreams in my eyes –
I saw nothing but unknown dreams.I did nothing without play
I did nothing neither my hands nor legs –
Because, two sets of hands and legs were always ready.
The voice of my cry was anxiously heard by them.
Then I was a little member in their family.

Now I’m walking without my lord,
Still I see only a set of footprints in the sand.
Now I don’t see unknown dreams in my eyes,
There is a great shadow in my eyes.
I do everything for quest of life,
I do everything with my hands and legs –
Because, the well wisher hands and legs masters has no more
The voice of my cry doesn’t anxious them
I don’t see them, but I think – they always see me.

Now I’m an elder member in the family
I’ve huge duty to the younger
I’ve no enough time to think about them,
The coming generation is thinkable think to me.
Have any time to think about my lord and lady?
No, – we should think about future
And unfortunately it is the stern reality.

You and I are standing at station
Wait for the train
Hundred people, thousand people
Come and go here.Anybody comes by singing
Anybody comes in silence
But everybody goes away
Newcomers come for the train
They will also go
They understand,
They listen
They analyze
And give gift
It’s just for “the singing.”

Rickshaw pullers keep suffering.
In scorching heat
Passengers suffer and sweat.
They wait for free road
Some keep on calling God
To reach the destination
Hurried, quick and soon.
Some drivers do sick competition
Making no profit but extension
Of suffering, for lack of clear vision.
The policy makers
Don’t bother.
They realize not
How people suffer.
Its time, take step
Policy makers
Don’t sleep.

I spent a vast time in vain
Now I’m undone, I am caught

Everybody surrounding me shines
Except I who am as past remain
Now I regret for my valuable time
That’s more precious than diamond
Any other jewel is less precious, less fine.
My loss is irrevocable which has no cure
Could I use it! I could shine I’m sure.
I pray to the Almighty a gift
O Lord, give me chance for a lift
Up to the expected height.

Now I swear of doing
Whatever is good and glowing
With the light of hope
I holdfast a tight rope.
To be successful in our life
Let’s do the best use of our valuable time.

Joy of Eid
Afsar Nizam

After the departure of shining afternoon
The evening sky takes the hue red
And when the red gone dark appeared
With a canal black and curved,
Now the canal resembles
The crescent of Eid apart
And if it stand so, I shall be awakening
All the night smart.

Also there shall be the Angels
The Whores ‘n’ Fairies awaken
In the mirth of awakening-night
Offering saline taste of an Ocean
That makes friendship between a pair of han[d],

Forgetting all ills and enmities
Embarrassing the foe as friend then
Having a golden tie giving up the suffering
That are now turned into love and affection.

The garden of Love shall blossom flower
In which dwells the joy of Eid,
The joy which teaches us equity
That’s the base, the core
A hair breadth deviation from which
Shall help none to sustain life indeed.

You come to make us
Self-denying and holy,
You can remove from the earth
Superstition and the dirt.

You can make this earth
Luminous and fine,
The touch of yours becomes all
Perfect and nice.

When you come to all Muslims,
Bringing complimentary gift,
All become pleasant, delighted
Cheerful and optimist.

You are the most respectful
Of all months,
And the main weapon for the establishment
Of peace on the earth.

You especially bring for us
Kindness, liberation and remission
For you, we have got our
Holy book of “Quran”.
